*Sob*

This is sooooo not fair. They closed I-70. So what if they will be getting absolutley massive amounts of snow? I need to use I-70! How am I supposed to get to Seattle with a husband with an inner ear condition if they close I-70!?! Well, as you have probably guessed through this garbled and desperate rant, I will not be traveling (unless by some miracle the roads open before 6 am tomorrow) to Seattle for Christmas. I may go curl up in the corner and whimper.
I will post knitting stuff soon, I promise. Just been busy and disorganized.
Merry Christmas, to all my friends.

Fork Me, I'm Done!!!

LOL
Still a little loony...spent the last two days non-stop knitting. For some odd reason I thought that I could finish 2" of sweater and two sleeves in two days. Not to mention the sewing and tucking in of ends. In two days. Amazingly, I did do it. I won't do that again! I am so absolutely thrilled that my Bob sweater is done, but that was a little too rushed! Bob did turn out rather lovely. I made it out of Red Heart Soft Yarn, in Paprika. It is a gorgeous rich reddish-orange. Kinda rusty. I promise to post a pic soon...I just can't find the camera right now! This morning I finally started on DH's project. It will be the Diamonds for Him sweater vest. It is also in the RH Soft Yarn. No, no, not matching sweaters! His will be in their color Grape. It is a lovely plummy color.
More soon!
I'm going to go sleep of my knit binge!

Antisocial.

I have absolutely buried myself in books for the last few days. Went to the local library. I love the local library. They recently got in a new load of knitting books and I had to check out as many as possible. LOL
One of the books that I checked out was Big Girl Knits. Yep, I'm a big girl. And that's ok. (evil grin) I really do think that I need to just knit one of everything out of that book! I adore the knit pants!
I also got Sexy Little Knits. I believe it is by Ashley Paige. Very cute book. Unfortunatley, nothing is written over a size Large. I think there are a few patterns that can be upsized successfully! I mean, who doesn't need a knitted mesh nightie?!? LOL
Anyways, need to get back to my christmas presents! I haven't knitted anything for days!

Sleepy...

Too much turkey...
Anyways, still working my way through Bob. Haven't done much else!
Gonna go get some sleep, more soon!

I rock!

Well, at least until J warms up my soup for lunch tomorrow. :) Then we will know for sure. LOL
I loooove to cook. The cold weather really brings out my insane urge to cook and bake. Unfortunately, the hubby will not eat soup. Well, fine then, I will feed friends and innocent bystanders!
Anyways...here is the recent knitting!

This is the Christmas Star Pin from Creative Knitting. Easy pattern!!! It seriously took me like an hour to knit up and add the beads. Still need to add a pin back to it though! The yarn I used was Moonlight Mohair by Lion Brand. I just split the two strands up.
More pics soon! (Just gotta finish something else!)

Oops!

Correction!
The flower pattern is in the current issue of Creative Knitting! :)

Pics

This is the Chunky Lace Cap from Craftbits. I needed a quicky project to do while I am slogging through my Bob sweater. I love Bob, but Bob is taking a loooong time! And nooo, I did NOT crochet the flower. Why should we knitters always have to crochet flowers?!? This flower is from a back issue of Simply Knitting. There looks to be a good flower pattern in the current Knit Simple, I believe.
Here is Harry Bear. A little floppy! He was understuffed. (oops!) Harry's been done for awhile, but Harry isn't photogenic!
More soon!

Lazy

I know, I know...I keep meaning to take pictures, but never seem to get them taken. i haven't really done much knitting lately. I started a pair of arm warmers, half done. Hedgehog still doesn't have a face. Another hat started. I just can't stay on track for long periods of time. I think it is the weather. i just feel like curling up under a pile of sweaters and going to sleep.
Anyways, filled out an application to work at Barnes and Noble. A bookstore would be a fun change of pace. I don't think I could handle the waitress/bartender thing again. Too crazy. Too many obnoxious people. Food service just attracts wierdos. Yikes. My friend J is so sweet, she let me use her as a reference and will even tell them I am organized! She's even seen my house!
Again, pics soon I hope!

YARN!!!

Wow...went to Michael's today. Big sale going on...not huge markdowns though. Enough to make me feel like I am getting a little bit of a deal. :) Haven't barely worked on anything lately. I have been trying to sell all of my old clothes on ebay and it has been killing me. I haven't sold much. I think in fees and what I have bought I am way in the hole (technically speaking). Haven't finished the hedgehog, yet. My youngest won't give it up for me to mess with it. Decided this morning that I am going to take a break from the gift making and am working on my own sweater. It is sooo awesome. It will be a 3/4 length coat in a soft almost tweedy looking yarn in fuschia with ribbon blended in. Sounds crazy, right? Maybe a little. Will post pics eventually. I hate putting up pics of stuff half-done....then they never get finished!

Old habits.

Blah, blah, blah.
I don't need sleep, not really. I just need lots and lots and lots of coffee. It is absolutly amazing how much I can get done when I don't go to bed until 11 and get up about 5. AM, yes in the morning. I was shocked also. I started the Harry Bear from Berocco yesterday morning, finished him this morning....made him up in Yarn Bee Luscious....very odd novelty yarn, sooo soft! Ended up a little skinny, a little floppy. Cute though, shades of pink, fuschia, white, black. Started and almost finished this afternoon the Hedgehog from Lion Brand Yarn...totally did not use their yarn. Ended up using Red Heart Super Saver, Symphony, and Foxy. Take that Lion Brand. Came out totally awesome. Use double strand symphony plus one strand super saver instead of wool-ease thick and quick, use double strand foxy for double strand fun fur, and disregard second color fun fur. I'm so amped that it came out! Will post pics when he has a face sewn on!

Yep, I cheated.

But I still finished it! The Branching out scarf should have had 27 repeats of the pattern, but I got through 21 repeats and had to call it good. I was definately going crosseyed! LOL
(Yikes! Will I get all of this done for Christmas?!?)

Must. Be. An. Adult!

Dammit. I don't want to be an adult. I don't want to dress like an adult. Why won't people think I'm professional if I choose to dress in overalls?!?
I am so clueless on sizes. Each brand name seems to have a different set of measurements for their sizes. My body (depending on brand) ranges from a 14 to a 20! How do they expect me to shop? I must be missing something.
Okay..enough ranting.
Back to knitting.
Still working on the Branching Out scarf. I am about 2/3 done. Started an eyelet stitch wrap out of one of the Vogue Knitting books with the evil yarn. I love this yarn but it is a cotton/silk/mohair/nylon blend that has no elesticity or stitch memory. It really just hangs there. But it is soooo soft. It will not do ribbing or cables or whatever. but it will eyelet, sort-of. The wrap is trying to bias on me, but I am hoping that by the time it is 80-some-odd inches that it will not be overly noticeable.
Well, pics eventually...have to finish something first!

Woohoo!

I love Halloween. I really could get into Halloween. Just wait until the boys are a few years older. I will have the excuse I need to just go nuts and blame it on them!!! (evil grin) I have killer recipes for Halloween cupcakes that I need to make! LOL
Okay...back to knitting!
I am currently working on the Branching Out scarf from Knitty for my Christmas list. I'm going to have a hard time giving it away! I'm making it out of a pale, icy green acrylic that I had left over from a project abandoned...Red Heart! It looks really great. I do have to give credit to I. from the knitting group... she made it first!
Will have pics when it is done!

Total nostalgia.

Mommy...I wanna be Rainbow Brite for halloween!!!!!! Or Strawberry Shortcake....
This is sooo not fair. I wanna dress up for halloween, but of course these costumes do not come in my size. (only up to adult large, which of course runs smell scince it is a cheapie costume) i just may have to dust off the sewing machine and give it a go. how many times in your life can you just have fun? Especially dressing up like 1980's cartoon characters!
Anyways....

The Sweater

I almost forgot! I can now show off the sweater! Last night I gave it to J to give to her daughter... I hope it fits! The pattern is the funnel neck top from hip knits. I used a miscellaneous recycled yarn that was tripled to be approximately super chunky weight. I hope she likes it!

Blurry.

Well, just the picture. This is a pic of the two projects I just got done. The first is the fat hat from hip knits. It was made from navy lion brand wool-ease thick and quick. It has a lot of stretch! The second is a keyhole scraf I half-assed from a skein of walmart brand nylon novelty yarn. Very soft and very slippery!

Santa's Sweatshop

LOL
I have soooo many projects going on right now! I am happy though, I finished a hat! It is the fat hat from hip knits. Great book. Will post a pic soon....
I am feeling so good about the outlook of my wardrobe! I finally sucked it up and took my measurements and am trying to shop based on those and not by the size on the label. It helps I think that I am utilizing ebay. I have to use measurements on there. No fun when you just guess! But i got this great skirt today in the mail... and it fit!!!
okay...enough bouncing off the walls... (evil grin)
pics soon!!!!

It's aliiiiiiiiive!

Wow...too many old movies, lately. :)
But, I did get the camera fixed and installed properly and thought to post a pic of a finished project. This is the Diagonal Eyelet Scarf from the most recent issue of Creative Knitting magazine. The yarn used is Plymouth Encore in a teal/purple heather. It is a wool/acrylic blend yarn...very cuddly.

I am such a pansy.

I keep procrastinating on my knitting. I don't know why....maybe it's the miles and miles of scarves that stretches in front of me. Yikes.
LOL
Even though, I am looking forward to being able to give all of these scarves and such as gifts in a few months.
Only a few months to the holidays? Where did the time go?
(I can't wait for snow!!!)
Gotta get back to knitting!
Will have pics up soon...need to download camera software from net...yuck.
:)
(congrats again on the house J, I am so excited for you!)

Red Heart Rocks!

LOLOL!
Who knew that I would inevitably begin a love affair with Red Heart? Who cares that it isn't all natural fibers! Who cares that it isn't organic! It's cheap and fun!
Anyways....
Gotta love amusing tangents. :)

Thump, dammit.

I am in the process of getting a new roof put on the house. They started this morning. Woohoo and celebratory dance, right? No. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it is slowly driving me crazy. I would never have put any confidence in the "chinese water torture" until now. It would work.
LOL, anyways....
I am working on the never-ending pile of yarn that will hopefully (magically) become christmas presents for the umpteen relatives that I will actually have to be face to face with this year. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see them. I just won't have any excuses if I forget a present. Do I have a solution, you ask? Why, yes. I will knit as many scarves and hats and washclothes and snowmen as I can until I go crosseyed! Hopefully there will be more than enough....
(ack!)

Mwa-ha-ha! (and other evil chuckles)

I can't believe it has been quite so long since I have had the internet at home! But, at last I can blog again in peace! (happy dance)
Will be taking pics soon...would like to show off the sweater I finished! It is for my friend J's daughter...I hope! I am keeping my fingers crossed that it fits! But it is a sort-of surprise. J did not see it while I knitted it up, so I won't post a pic of it until she sees it. (evil grin). HA HA J, no peeking!

The swatch fairy smacked me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, J! but, seeing as i did not own up to the rule of knitting karma, the small piece of the tank I finished looked like a deformed and demented washcloth. lol
Instead, I am now attempting the Andean Lace Treasure Shawl from Knit Picks. Still haven't swatched though. And am using a worsted weight yarn and size 6 needles instead of sport yarn and size 5 needles, but it's a shawl, right? What could happen?!?
Keep your fingers crossed!
Anyways, this weekend I will be able to felt and finish my clutch I knitted last month. if it comes out good, I will post a pic of it!

My rep precedes me....

What a small world this is anymore. The internet gives us avenues of communication that in any other era would be totally unheard of.
Anyways, my best friend from high school and I crashed into each other on myspace.com. I know, I know, a little cliched, but it was so neat to be able to talk/message to him after all this time.
It was so funny to hear all of the rumors that passed around after I left and moved here to be with my hubby. I had left without giving anyone but family notice, and the speculation went rampant!
LOL
Anyways, off to bed!

Thinking in sneezes.

Goodness, my body has been slogging through a whopper of a spring cold for the last few days. Only this morning have I started to feel the beginnings of coherence.
Late last night I made the mistake of thinking that if I worked on my latest knitting projest it would relax me enough to get some sleep. Fat chance! Reading through the pattern ended up something like: knit one, purl achoo, knit one, achoo. Needless to say, I believe I missed a stitch along the way and now have to start over.
I do have to say that in the light of day that all of this has become a lot funnier than it started off being. I just hope my cold goes away soon or I will have to adapt my patterns to accomodate a knit achoo stitch.
