Lazy or Stubborn

I can't decide which I am today. I am knitting a pair of baby pants for the littlest boy and the pattern calls for 16" circs and dpns. I can't find my dpns (they are hiding from me because they know I secretly hate them), so I have stretched the leg stitches onto the circ. It looks like I am knitting a grey wooly funnel.

FO: Waterlily Tank

My first mostly successful garment! Yay!
It's a bit loose...I have an extra ball of the ribbon yarn that I used. I may add a crochet edge to weigh it down a bit and a tie to cinch in under the bust.

Friday Update

Yea, I finally got around to an update! :)
Here are two new FO's for sale:
My first row counter bracelet! It turned out really nice. I had to use a flash in the picture, so it doesn't pick up all the details very well. The 10's row is made with an apple green round glass bead, the 1's row is an iridescent purple triangular bead, and the accent bead is a purple lampwork bead. The slider is out of green seed beads about a shade or two darker than the 10's beads. It is all strung on elastic thread to accomadate a larger range of sizes and to eliminate the need for pesky clasps. All findings are sterling silver. This is for sale for $10 including shipping to the U.S.
This next FO is a swatch keychain. It is about 4 times the size of the swatch charms. (A much better size for hanging out with your keys!) This one was made from cotton yarn in a white/yellow/gold colorway. It is accented with amber/gold and yellow glass beads. It is stitched in an allover cable with garter edging. Keychains are available for $5 including shipping to the U.S. (This one is not available! It was made to order. Sorry!)
As for the rest of my friday update, I will still be selling the swatch charms. I will not be making them into cell phone charms unless specifically ordered that way. If you would like one, they will be $4 each including shipping to the U.S. Otherwise, I will be making charms into stitch markers. (They are really cute this way!) A set of five will be $8 including shipping to the U.S.
Thanks!
More coming soon!

Feeling a smidge GROUCHY.

I just got done catching up on reading blogs and saw this. Poor Cindy! She was the winner of my last contest. The envelope for the ring finally made it to her in the mail, but not the ring! Someone had tampered with the package and stolen the ring. I hope the S.O.B. got a really nasty paper-cut. I have half a mind to go down to the post office and raise a stink. This has never happened to me before and it really pisses me off. But, thankfully, I do have the same beads leftover from Cindy's ring, so I can make another just like it. Hopefully the S.O.B. will have a day off and it can be delivered to her without the tampering. Hmph.
On a lighter note...
Thanks to all of you for your congrats on the new baby. If you didn't get an email form and want to see pics of him, please send me your email addy and I will send you the link!
Another thanks to all of you that have offered support and/or yarn for my blankie! Hopefully it won't take the 20 months it took Shelly Kang! (Yikes, huh?)
More soon!

Playing Catch Up

I have been so amazingly scattered the last few weeks. It's astounding how diorganized I am right now. I am finally settling into a semblance of a routine and getting back to feeling normal. (I'm going back and reading this....it's not so dramatic as it sounds!)
Updates:
The baby came on the 29th. (yep, leap year!)
I can see my feet! LOL
Alas, there is no knitting content. I have finished a baby hat lately and that's about it. There are still no batteries in the camera. When I get to it, I will have a happy post full of belated knitting pron. :)
I may be getting a little sadistic in my knitting. I really want to make this blanket. Yep, a sock yarn blanket on sz 2 needles. And here comes the fun part. I don't exactly have a stash of sock yarn. But I know you all do! LOL No, no, don't click away. I'm not wanting to seperate you all from your sock yarn. I would be more likely to be poked with all those itty-bitty needles first, wouldn't I? I just want your odds and ends that sit in the back of the closet after you have finished your socks. I would even be willing to trade for them. Send me your bits and I will send you a beaded ring, a knitted cell phone charm, or a knitted swatch key chain.
Now for some contests...
Devon is having a blogoversary contest...go tell her about your fav dessert and that I sent you!
NH Knitting Mama is having a Promote my Shop contest...go tell her I sent you!
Ann is having a contest, too. Go over and tell her I sent you!
The Spring Fling Coffee and Yarn Swap is starting up on March 20th! Go on over and sign up!
That's it for now. More soon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

One quick and sappy FO: the beer sweater!

I Surprised the hubby with this this morning and he really liked it! That, or the promise of Guinness to go in it! LOL
This was incredibly easy to make. I did change it a bit. I omitted the sleeves and shortened the neck. I am thinking of making another one in a girly pattern for myself. Maybe lacy.... :) (Should I be looking forward to drinking?)
LOL
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!
P.S.
I will have more items for sale soon. Check out the link on the sidebar for what I have right now!

Swatches for your cell phone

I just love it when inspiration strikes!
These are the new items I will be offering for sale in the next few days. I still need to go over to Lowe's and pick up the O-rings that they will attach to so they can hang from the cell phone attenae.

Starting from top left: pink and orange acrylic in single crochet w/ pink square glass bead, pink and orange acrylic in garter stitch with dark pink oval glass bead, green and teal acrylic in seed stitch with blue glass bead, green and teal acrylic in double crochet with blue glass bead, yellow and white cotton in stockinette and garter stitch with yellow glass bead, and yellow cotton in eyelet stitch with red wooden bead.
I will be charging $5 (including shipping) for each cell phone charm.
I am hoping to make some in the shape of hats and socks and maybe mittens. I still haven't worked it out yet! I am also going to try to crochet some different shapes.
To keep up a variety of colors and fibers, I am also proposing a bit of bartering if anyone is interested. If you have remnants of fingering, laceweight, or sport weight yarn hanging out in your knitting storage, I will be happy to trade with you! Send me ten remnants and I will send you a cell phone charm of your choice! (I will count large remnants over 20-ish yards as two remnants.) Thanks!

Cindy, please send me your address and choice of rings. You can email me at ksknitchic@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Friday Update

Yay! More rings! As the title suggests, every friday I am going to be updating here and at flickr photos of finished items for sale (click on rings set on right hand toolbar to sonly see rings.). Right now I have only finished rings. I hope to have some sock/small project bags for sale soon. After that I have plans to work out knitting buckets (large round totes), cell phone and/or bracelet charms, and possibly a mid sized project bag of some sort. I have also had success with a craft apron that I made for myself and enjoy, but there are still some bugs to work out with that pattern!

On the knitting front, I haven't finished much. I have been playing with the yarn that I won awhile back from J. Denae. It is a fabulous cushy wool from Yarn Lust. (on etsy.) I have finished a Calorimetry (Knitty). I still need to weave in the ends and add a button. I am working on a pair of Purple Monkey Dishwasher Mitts out of the same yarn and hopoe to have enough to make a scarf. I am thinking about a magic scarf or something lacey. As for baby knitting, I haven't done much. I am still slogging through my baby overalls. They seem to me that they will be very cute, but I don't know if I will ever finish them! I took a pattern from Knit Simple that was baby shortalls and added to the inseam. Unfortunately, the pattern is a bit fussy and uses multiple steps to accomplish minor details. I am also puttering around with Doddy from Knitty. The modular pentagons is appealing to the closet geek in me! I am working it in red heart in black, cranberry, and cream on size 3's. It's slow going with suck a tight guage, but I don't want any chance of stuffing coming out!
Don't forget that today is the last day for my contest!
Well, more soon! Enjoy the snow! :)

100th post, rings, and viewer participation

Still with me? :)
I have finally reached my 100th post! I do believe this calls for a contest. There is a catch, though. To enter this contest you have to post about my rings for sale on your blog. That's it. (Well, and comment here so that I know that you did it.) And, if anyone mentions that you sent them over from your blog, I will give you an extra entry, only to be fair. Oh, yes, and the prize. You were waiting for that, weren't you? I hate to dissapoint, but it will not be a yarny prize. Since we are already on the theme of rings for sale, the winner of the contest will be able to choose from one these three rings that are currently for sale. ($5 each retail, free shipping to the U.S.)

I will keep the contest open until the 31st, and then pick a winner on the first. Good luck!
More knitting soon!
I will post more rings soon and hopefully a link to a more organized page to view them!

Settin' up Shop

For some reason I have fallen in love with making beaded rings! I just can't get enough of all the new ways to put beads on stretchy plastic cord. :) The last one I made was sent to Jessi and it's so nice that she enjoys it! I have more than enough to satisfy my jewelry stash, but I still don't want to stop. So, to feed my habit of the moment, I am offering to sell the rest. For $5 (including shipping) I will send you a hand beaded ring. Here is the picture of Jessi's ring:

(Sorry, just the ring and not the shawl pin! I stole the pic from Jessi's blog.)
I will post more pics of rings as I finish them. If you are interested, please email me at ksknitchic@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Catching Up

Yep, this is going to be a picture heavy post. :P
First off, i still need to give a big public thank you to my Coffee Swap pal. I received this a while ago, but have only now gotten my hands on a viable usb cable for my camera! This was a very nice package to open. All of the different goodies were wrapped in pretty paper!
Unfortunately, as I write this, the chocolate is all gone, but I have the coffee waiting for me in the freezer for after the baby!

Now for FO's:
Here are a pair of the baby bell-bottoms from the blue blog.

Here is a blanket sleeper. I found the pattern on Ravelry.
Below is a hugs and kisses mug cozy that I altered to use a standard cable. This was sent to my coffee swap pal.

From the holiday Knit Simple I made one of the ornaments for my coffee swap pal. It turned out nicely. Next time I wouldn't stuff it with plastic bags.

Here is the huggy bear beret! I have been wearing it most of the winter. The color is darker and brighter in real life. It is a great fuschia with a bit of sparkle from the ribbon in the yarn.

This is the shawl I started forever ago. It ended only being half the length. I ened up not liking it for myself. It will go to mu hubby's grandmother the next time we go to visit her.
Phew! That was a lot! More to some soon!
