Geez!

It's been awhile!  I feel as though I should be blowing the dust bunnies out of the corners of my blog!  lmao  It's amazing how time flies.  :)

Okie-dokie, now for some ramblings about knitting....  Hey!  I am knitting.  Not for myself mind you.  Commission knitting!!!  lol  I have the buttons left to knit on my peak's island hood and then that will be on its way to canada to the lovely Maggi who sent me lovely sock yarns.  I'm hoping to make the mcn she sent me into a pretty shawlette to keep my neck cozy and the gorgeous gothsocks into kneesocks.  i'm tempted to try some colorwork even.  gasp!  Anyways, the hood for Maggi was knit from Malabrigo worsted.  I've found this is not my fave yarn.  I know, shocked right?  I absolutely adore the sock yarn.  But the worsted is too splitty and thick and thin for me.  There was a definate weight difference in the first and second skeins.  The first skein bordered on bulky weight and the second was very much more on the worsted side.  It was wonderfully soft, though!

My other commission is for the too cool Tairi.  (I think I spelled the name right!)  I'm knitting fun winter hats for her kiddoes.  Capucine hats (they look like little Hansel and Gretel fairytale hoods!) for the girls and Fish hats for the boys.  SO CUTE!

When these are all done I'm hoping I'll be able to convince myself to get back to my cassis cardi.  I'm knitting it from a cozy sheepy grey/oatmeal rustic wool.  Christopher Sheep Farm Two-Ply.  Lovely stuff.  Been working on it since fall and I'm still on the raglan shaping.  Did I mention this is a top down sweater???  lol!

Enough of ranting!  I'm glad to be back.  I'm going to go curl up with my book and my cat. :)
